2019 Residents Tax Exemption Info

The following exemptions were enacted locally and are applicable to Cranston residents only:

 Real estate exemption for persons 65 years of age or older:
Qualifying persons must be 65 or older and reside in a dwelling of not more than 3 family units. Only one elderly exemption is allowed per household.

Qualifying persons must be 65 or older and not own real estate. Persons 65 years of age or older are not eligible for both real estate and motor vehicle exemptions.

 Total disabled persons must be 100 percent disabled as determined by Social Security:
An exemption on residential property is available to the disabled head of household. The total amount of exemption that one can receive cannot exceed eight thousand dollars.
