RIDOT to hold Public Informational Meeting on Wednesday August 16 - Traffic Safety Enhancements on Elmwood Avenue and Pontiac Avenue

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation and the Cranston Public Works Department will hold a joint public informational meeting concerning traffic safety enhancements proposed for Elmwood Avenue and Pontiac Avenue. This meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 16th, at 6:00 PM, at the Cranston City Hall Council chambers.


Safety Enhancements planned for the project include re-striping of the roads and crosswalks, new turning lanes along the roadway, new signage, and improved traffic and pedestrian crossing signals. The limits of the work on Elmwood Avenue shall be from the Warwick border at Wellington Avenue up to Park Avenue. The limits of the work proposed for Pontiac Avenue shall be from Howard Avenue to Slater Road.

Representatives from both RIDOT and the Cranston Public Works Department shall be in attendance at the meeting to answer any questions concerning the project. Plans may also be viewed at the Public Works department offices, Room 109 at city hall.
